The Alma Mater Society (AMS) is the oldest student association in Canada and has been a central student organization at Queen's since its founding in 1858. Today, the AMS acts as a service, advocacy, and governing body on behalf of all students enrolled in AMS-affiliated programs at Queen's University. The AMS is a not-for-profit entity created by the Society to ensure its continuing financial viability by overseeing the management of its services and associated financial affairs. It is bound by the By-laws and corporate philosophy of our Mission and Operating statements as set out in the AMS Constitution. Clubs Policy and Education Assistant Manager Reports To Clubs Commissioner Job Summary The Clubs Policy and Education Assistant Manager plays a vital role in shaping and maintaining equitable, accessible, and efficient club policies. Through in-depth research and analysis, they recommend thoughtful policy updates that support a more inclusive and streamlined club experience. Working closely with the Operations and Finance Assistant Manager, they identify opportunities to enhance administrative efficiency through policy reform. They also support the Clubs Commissioner in the club ratification process, ensure consistent policy compliance across all clubs, and collaborate with the Communications and Development team to develop clear, engaging educational materials that effectively communicate policy changes to the student body. Competencies Accountability Attention to Detail Communication Cultural Sensitivity Problem Solving Conflict Management Time Management Customer/Client Focused Job Duties Conduct research and analysis to support updates to the Clubs Policy, focusing on improving accessibility, equity, and operational effectiveness. Assist the Clubs Commissioner in the club ratification process, ensuring that new and existing clubs meet policy requirements. Monitor and support policy compliance across all recognized clubs. Collaborate with the Communications and Development team to develop and distribute educational materials that reflect current policy. Help ensure clubs are well-informed of any policy updates or procedural changes through workshops, documentation, and outreach.
