Position Title: Education & Support Coordinator
At the Alzheimer Society of Windsor and Essex County (ASWE), we are committed to supporting individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. Through education, compassionate care, and person-centered programming, we aim to improve quality of life and foster dignity, understanding, and connection.
We are currently seeking an Education & Support Coordinator who is passionate about providing meaningful support to care partners and individuals living with dementia. This role is ideal for a clinically minded professional who thrives in a mission-driven, collaborative, and client-centered environment.

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Programs (or designate), the Education & Support Coordinator provides therapeutic and psycho-social support to care partners of people living with dementia through individual and group-based interventions. The role also includes outreach, intake, and collaboration with local and regional programs to ensure continuity of care. Clinical support for persons living with dementia is required.
This is an in-person position with occasional flexibility for remote work as business needs allow.

EDUCATION, OUTREACH & COLLABORATION

  • Facilitate educational and skills-based training programs for family and professional caregivers
  • Conduct outreach to engage and recruit care partners into available programs
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with community and regional partners
  • Participate in cross-agency initiatives and knowledge exchange efforts to improve dementia care

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Nursing (RN/RPN), Social Work, Social Service Worker, Occupational Therapy, or Speech-Language Pathology. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Current registration in good standing with the applicable regulatory body (e.g., CNO, OCSWSSW, CASLPO).
  • REQUIRED: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in senior care, with a strong background in working with individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias.
  • Experience managing complex or chronic health conditions is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Current First Aid, CPR/BLS, and Food Handler certifications (or willingness to obtain).
  • Vulnerable Sector Police Check required.
  • U-First!, Gentle Persuasive Approaches (GPA), and DementiAbility training are strong assets.
