QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of specialization, notably education.
The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the afore-mentioned qualifications if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement (JBNQA) and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board.
REQUIREMENTS:
Experience as a teacher (in a Nunavik school is an asset)
Fluency in at least two of the working languages of the Board (Inuktitut, French, English)
Strong/Exceptional Computer literacy (especially in commonly used educational software)
Strong communication and presentation skills
Collaborative and helpful nature
Knowledge of the region of Nunavik, the Inuit culture and Inuktitut are all asset.
Frequent travel to Nunavik communities.
Help teachers and education consultants to integrate the new technologies into their daily practice and the program/materials they are developing through training sessions and workshops in person or with technological support (virtual class, TEAMs or Zoom, etc.);
Support link between the IT department and Education Services with regards to IT;
Support and ensure high quality and culturally relevant education in Nunavik communities specifically with the use of education technology;
Review the current status and needs of educators, school administrators, professionals and other staff members concerning the use of education technology hardware and software and promote the development of their skills.
Follow up on inventories of materials for educational technology within our schools;
Provide leadership to the team and schools for the Digital Action Plan goals;
Carry out related tasks at the discretion of the immediate supervisor.
