Description
  Position: This position is a casual/PRN, varied hours per week position. Teaching while utilizing adult learning principles. This position reports to the Education Manager. This is a non-union hourly position.   Qualifications: * Currently licensed to practice in the State of Ohio * BSN required * Current American Heart Association BLS & ACLS certification required * BLS AHA Instructor preferred * ACLS AHA Instructor preferred * PALS AHA Instructor Preferred * Three years nursing experience required.  Once year of teach experience preferred. * One year of clinical education experience preferred   Responsibility: * HealthStream Administrator including EMR/EPIC HealthStream build * Lead Instructor of Nursing Department Orientation and annual competencies * Orient new nurses and nursing assistants to policies and operation of the glucometer.   * PAPR Instructor – orienting new hires monthly. * Restraint Instructor - orienting new hires monthly. * Provides annual education and competency testing. * Comprehensive current knowledge of nursing and health practices * Evidence of good communication skills * Ability to work well one-on one or in groups * Other duties as assigned by Education department i.e. ACLS Instructor, ECG Instructor, POCT Glucometer Instructor, AVADE Instructor & etc. * Maintains all required qualifications for area assigned. * Physically able to perform the functions of the position. * All other tasks as assigned.
Responsibilities
The Nurse Educator is responsible for leading nursing department orientations, conducting annual competency testing, and managing educational platforms like HealthStream. They also provide hands-on training for new hires on clinical equipment and safety protocols such as restraint and PAPR usage.
