As an Education Mental Health Practitioner, you will be expected to work under supervision as part of a dynamic mental health team in a creative environment where evidence-based interventions, new ideas, ways of working and supporting children and young people are actively encouraged. Offering Whole School Approach is a part of this exciting role.
This approach requires flexibility and working in educational settings. We encourage CPD and will continue to support you to consolidate and develop your skills. You will be able to use your skills via direct individual and group work to support children, young people and their parents.
There will be an expectation and opportunities to work collaboratively with children, young people and their families to support the co-production and development of the service, creating meaningful participation work.
We will consider CWPs and PWPs with the appropraite experience/transferable skills.
You will need to evidence BABCP or BACP registration or evidence this has been applied for.
THE EDUCATION MENTAL HEALTH PRACTITIONER IS REQUIRED TO :
Have the relevant EMHP Post Graduate Diploma qualification following the completion of a CYP IAPT approved training in Evidence -Based Psychological Treatment for Children Young People (C&Y IAPT) (successful completion of the HEE commissioned 1 year ‘Education Mental Health Practitioner’ course). Or Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) CYP-IAPT qualification
Evidence of continuing Professional Development and commitment of ongoing learning.
Experience of working with children and young people, their families and others.
Experience of working and liaising with a wide variety of agencies and stakeholders
Experience of working with children and young people who have social, emotional and/or mental health difficulties
