Employee Contract Type: Local - Fixed Term Employee (Fixed Term) Job Description: Job Purpose The Education Officer will assist the project manager in overseeing and coordinating the overall implementation of the FAKHER (Facilitating Access to Knowledge, Hope, and Educational Resilience) project in Ghor and Herat Provinces. This role entails technical and management responsibilities, ensuring that the project is executed on schedule and within budget, following the project documents. The Education Officer will also ensure compliance with donor and internal reporting requirements and collaborate closely with the project manager. This is a full-time, grant-funded position with regular travel in the Ghor and Herat-targeted Provinces. The main responsibility of this position is to support the implementation of this project at the community level through local partners, as well as to increase the capacity building of the local partners in planning, organizing, implementing, and monitoring the project in the targeted areas. He/she is mainly responsible for overseeing the local partners to delivering the project activities at the field level through local partners as such as identifying priority needs, sensitizing and mobilizing the communities, establishing relationships with community leaders and local government authorities, ensuring the proper selection of project beneficiaries, delivering services, distribution of teaching and learning materials (TLM), conducting registration of complaints, ensuring proper documentation, and conducting follow-ups with beneficiaries. Major responsibility: Coordinate the project scope of work with the local partners and other stakeholders. Responsible for enhancing the capacity building of the local partners during the implementation of the project. In coordination with the project manager/zonal managers and education sector lead, implement the project activities in the respective provinces through local partners. Coordinate with the education sector team during the quality assurance session in the project-designated location through local partners. Periodically assess the local partner and update the project manager and education sector lead on the progress of the project. Provide ongoing mentoring and field-level support based on the WVA checklists or any tools proposed by the WV education sector and MEAL team. Coordinate project training plan with local partners. Review and check local partners' monthly activities report and submit to the project manager database in consultation with the MEAL and education sector lead. Organize a community meeting on project implementation in close collaboration with the project manager and the education sector lead. Meet regularly with beneficiary communities and leaders to ensure project effectiveness and community involvement in decision-making on education services. Provide joint supportive supervision on project sites, the job training to local partners, and undertake regular supportive supervision of the project activities at the field level. Assist in the financial management of the project, track, and monitor project expenses Stock management: Prepare the dispatch of orders for the project implementation through LMMS. Reporting, analysis, monitoring, and evaluation · Review the monthly report of local partners, analyze the report, and provide feedback to them. Also, send it to the project manager/zonal managers and the education sector lead. · Beneficiary reporting – including awareness, education activities, training activities, and community engagement reports to the project manager · Tracking of project indicators and reporting to the project manager/zonal managers, and the education sector lead. · Documentation of best practices for learning purposes and increasing program visibility. 7. Ensure that appropriate community development practices and “Do No Harm” principles are integrated and maintained during the planning and execution of the project. KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND EXPERIENCE Required Education, training, license, registration, and/or Certification: Bachelor's degree from TTC and Social Sciences Required Professional Experience At least 2 years of Relevant experience Experience in education/protection project implementation. Able to analyze medical/surveillance data Required Language(s) Fluency in English, Dari, and/or Pashto, both written and spoken Required travel and/or work environment accommodations One EO based in the Ghor Zonal Office, and one EO base will be Herat Zonal Office. Position’s physical requirements Being in good health and physical condition. Preferred Experience, Knowledge, and/or other Qualifications 1 Humanitarian context knowledge and experience. Experience in developing action plans, preparing curriculum, and training/orientation materials Experience in documentation and reporting. Experience working with community leaders (Community-Based Structures Experience in the ECCD, remedial classes, and monitoring of training activities Ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to work as part of a field team. Very good communication with communities and local authorities. Excellent presentation and communication skills. Ability to exhibit exemplary lifestyle as interpreted in a specific local cultural context Able to maintain performance expectations in diverse cultural contexts, stressful environments, and with limited resources Cross-cultural sensitivity, flexible views, emotional maturity, and physical stamina. Demonstrable experience in child protection, child rights, PFA, MHPSS, SIR, PSEA, and AAP. Interpersonal, management, and conflict resolution skills. Results-oriented and good team player. Good computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), internet use, and Outlook.
