COORDINATOR, EDUCATION OPERATIONS

The Education Operations Coordinator is an essential member of the Frederick A.O. Schwarz Education Center that will be responsible for coordinating and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations of the Education Center. The Coordinator supports the Manager, Field Trip Experiences in the daily operations of field trip reservations, providing high-level customer service to external educators and groups over the phone and via email in advance of their visit. The Coordinator also welcomes daily field trip groups arriving at the Museum, ensuring a seamless and organized experience from arrival to departure. In addition, the Coordinator assists with general operational and administrative needs for the department, including ordering and stocking materials, coordinating space bookings, helping with program set-up and break-down, and processing financial transactions. As a full-time member of the Education Center, they also take part in staff trainings, including in Museum exhibition content. The Education Operations Coordinator helps fulfill the Museum’s Education and Engagement mission by making it possible for students to engage with the Museum’s programs, where they examine the city’s past so that they may understand the present and envision their role in shaping the future. This is a full-time, regular position that reports directly to the Manager, Field Trip Experiences.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position primarily works a 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday-Friday schedule and requires full-time, in-person attendance at the Museum. Weekend, evening, and holiday work may be necessary to support special events and operational needs in consultation with supervisor. The role involves being stationary for 75% of the time, navigating office and Museum environments. Requires the ability to operate standard office equipment including computers and keyboards for extended periods of time. Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Strong visual acuity is necessary for tasks such as data analysis and operating equipment. The ability to troubleshoot, manage multiple projects efficiently, and adapt to changing priorities is crucial.
