Description Work Hours: 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Workdays: Monday – Friday (weekends/evenings as needed)Location: 5315 Summit Pkwy , San Antonio TX. 78210 Mission: The mission of Catholic Charities is to provide for the needs of our community through selfless service under the sign of love. Summary: Coordinates the provision of client-centered education services to newly-arrived adult refugees with limited English proficiency from diverse cultural backgrounds. Assists the Program Manager in the direct oversight and delegation of adult education activities. Implement procedures to be in grant compliance and assists in coordinating schedules for instructors, volunteers and community partners. Collaborate with in and out-house programs to develop partnerships to increase and maintain client enrollments. Position Responsibilities: · *Facilitates adult education activities at multiple educational sites, including: English Language (ELI) Instruction classes, registration & enrollment, testing, childcare supportive services, and volunteer activities. · *Creates and administers individualized plans of service according to client needs, including registration and pre- testing for open-enrollment ESL classes, referrals to continuing education and social services resources, transportation assistance, childcare services, and interpretation/translation services. · *Performs intake interviews and checks documentation to confirm eligibility of new clients. · *Coordinates outreach, registration, pre-testing, class placement, and post-testing of all clients in a timely manner in accordance with grant requirements. · *Able to input, and retrieve data from an online external Refugee Database, to keep track of all client information and program goals. Initiates case file creation for all enrolling clients, and monitors files to ensure they are maintained throughout clients’ tenures in the program. · Able to enter client data in an internal database on a regular basis. · Maintains current knowledge and information on community resources related to adult education and client well- being and provides referrals for clients. · Assists in coordinating special volunteer projects, internships, and on-going collaborations. · Assists in applying for, and carrying out, available grant opportunities to benefit the program · Participates in fundraising efforts to support client needs and the department. · Must complete all required professional development assigned in a timely manner. · Adhering to safety training and protocols on a daily basis, and taking precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of self, others. · Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information. · Adherence to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral is mandatory. · Every employee is required to take a solution-oriented approach in their interactions and undertakings, as well as being a team member that promotes collaboration and commitment to the Mission and Vision of the organization. · Other duties as assigned by Director of Education. Competencies: Communication Critical Thinking Results Oriented Solution Oriented Leadership Requirements Minimum Qualifications: · Education Bachelor’s degree in social services or education or business-related field.· OR Experience Minimum of (1) years working in a social service, administrative, hospitality, or management environment and can demonstrate a sensitivity and appreciation for diverse cultural populations. License and Credentials Reliable transportation Valid driver license Valid vehicle insurance Ability to operate an agency 12 passenger van on an as needed basis for program activities and events. Must be 21 years of age and adhere to the CCAOSA driving policy Minimum Knowledge and Skills: Preferred minimum of (1) years’ experience working in a social service environment that demonstrates a sensitivity and appreciation for diverse cultural populations. Experience with personal computer, various computer software, email and Microsoft Works, specifically Excel. Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team. Must have good written and verbal skills. Must have good critical thinking and problem solving skills. Ability to maintain appropriate ethical boundaries and professional client relationship. Flexibility to respond to the needs of a client population that changes daily. Knowledge of client case file documentation and record keeping procedures. Ability to drive and maintain reliable personal transportation. Able to drive a 12 passenger vehicle when necessary. Bilingual is a plus, but not required.
