An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit to the role of Education Safeguarding Advisor in the Safeguarding in Education Team.
You will support the Safeguarding in Education Team in fulfilling the Local Authority’s statutory duty under Section 175 of the Education Act 2002, ensuring that education settings across Bristol have robust measures in place to promote the safety and welfare of children.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative individual with a keen eye for detail.
You will be confident in providing specialist safeguarding advice and support to education professionals, particularly where gaps in policy, process, or practice are identified.
This role will support the sector in engaging with both national and local safeguarding priorities, including learning from statutory reviews and embedding effective practice. At Bristol City Council, we have high aspirations for our children and young people and are committed to delivering services that achieve the best possible outcomes.
This post would suit someone with experience in the education and/or social care sectors, particularly in safeguarding roles.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Successful applicants will be expected to:

  • Provide expert consultation to educational settings across the city.
  • Undertake a specialist role in a designated area of practice, promoting effective safeguarding practice across the education workforce and partner agencies.
  • Support the development of resources and delivery of training on specialist safeguarding topics, ensuring content is tailored appropriately for education professionals.
  • Facilitate projects focused on improving the performance and effectiveness of safeguarding systems across the Local Authority.
