QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current Alabama Teacher’s Certification, with a minimum of a Master’s Degree with an endorsement in counseling or educational leadership (If leadership endorsement is not held, it must be obtained within two years of hire).
  • A minimum of five years of experience as a classroom teacher.
  • Minimum of three years of previous experience in a counseling or leadership role.
  • Excellent communication skills with outstanding presentation, interpersonal, and time management skills, and abilities to work with adult learners to improve their practices through facilitation of targeted, intensive professional development in college and career readiness support .
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the Graduation Tracking, dual enrollment, and College and Career Readiness (CCR) Contact.
  • Help serve as a point of a contact for high school attendance tracking and CCR documentation.
  • Support the viewing of high school absences and send communication to parents and guardians.
  • Providing on-going support for school-based graduation coaches.
  • Collaborating with the high school principals to create a continuous improvement plan for coaching to ensure all students graduate and that they earn 100% CCR to graduate college and career ready.
  • Planning with the district Administrators, state staff, and schools to analyze, provide feedback, and implement district and school career readiness plans, and support intervention efforts in all schools utilizing the most current data sources and career readiness research.
  • Planning cooperatively in a variety of settings with district staff, schools, and other stakeholders so that all agreed upon outcomes, strategies, and timelines are accurate, clear, concise, and complete.
  • Participating in face-to-face and online professional learning opportunities as determined by the supervisor.
  • Communicating verbally, electronically, and in writing with district staff, state staff, and school officials/personnel so that career readiness information is completed in an accurate, effective, professional, and timely manner.
  • Submitting, producing, and/or uploading required documents, presentations, plans, data, calendar entries, receipts, travel, leave requests, and any other work product as directed by the supervisor.
  • Facilitating district-wide CCR or dual enrollment initiatives using state grants, professional learning and study groups directly related to identified career readiness needs.
  • Track and maintain graduation requirements using PowerSchool, including Graduation Pathways. Verify school credits for graduation, CCR credentials, scholarships, and college applications. Coordinate Career and Technical Education pathways for students for dual enrollment and CCR credentials; monitor progress through the program.
  • Coordinate dual enrollment credit or CCR opportunities at community colleges or colleges.
  • Work with counselors and system analysts to ensure accuracy of course information including credit information, state course codes, CCR and transcript information and CTE data in PowerSchool.
  • Assist principals, counselors, and systems administration staff with student scheduling to obtain 100% graduation rate. Create new courses in PowerSchool utilizing IDOE standards and guidelines. Work with individual students to schedule courses, based on graduation planning and requirements.
  • Help manage credit and grade recovery programs to ensure students are progressing to meet graduation requirements. Administer final exams for Ingenuity and other online courses. Enter dual credit, independent study and Ingenuity grades into PowerSchool. Help maintain accurate student data including demographic and parent and guardian contact information in PowerSchool.
  • Assist counselors and the system analysts with various data imports and exports to and from PowerSchool.
  • Assist with general tasks such as setup of teacher and parent observers, creating users, and resetting passwords for parents, students, and teachers.
  • Maintain a working knowledge and utilize additional systems, such as Hi-Ed and Performance Matters.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
