  • Full time, continuing position , located on the Camperdown Campus at the Faculty of Science
  • Provide a broad range of administrative and operational support to the Academic and Teaching staff at the School of Chemistry
  • Base Salary $103,185 - $111,237 p.a ( HEO6) + 17% superannuation

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The School of Chemistry is currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Education Support Officer to provide a broad range of administrative and operational support to Academic and Teaching staff to meet the educational support needs of the School.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • coordinate the compilation of academic content and materials prepared by Academic and Teaching staff for programs of study, and/or uploading to Canvas/online systems
  • provide accurate and detailed support for examination-related and results processing tasks
  • ensure compliance with relevant legislative and regulatory controls
  • provide education support services in line with academic requirements and the overall timetable for the work area
  • ensure a safe working environment for all staff and students.

  • experience working in a tertiary environment with working knowledge of using Learning Management Systems such as Canvas with sound understanding of timetabling/rostering of student activities
  • effective and tactful communication skills (both verbal and written) together with strong problem solving skills.
  • the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement, along with the ability to prioritise workload during busy periods
  • excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders including academics, professional staff and external stakeholders
  • excellent time and workload management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise effectively, manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and achieve required outcomes
  • the confidence to initiate and develop professional relationships with faculty academic and administrative staff and other internal stakeholders and contribute positively to the team environment.
