Caribou High School is seeking a patient, dedicated, and compassionate Educational Technician to support students in the Learning Commons (Grades 9-12) for the 2025–2026 school year.
This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with students in their academic work as well as support their love for reading in our library area. The Educational Technician will collaborate directly with the teacher of record as needed to best support students.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· A minimum of 90 college credit hours and current authorization from the Maine Department of Education as an Educational Technician II or Educational Technician III (or eligible to obtain).
· Experience supporting students with academic expectations
· Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and a commitment to fostering student growth and success.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism at all times.
· Team-oriented, dependable, and flexible, with a collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

· Library Media Consultant
Provides assistance in the planning, management, and evaluation of school library media programs.
· Provide Academic Support:
Work with small groups or individual students in a variety of academic areas.
· Collaborate with Teachers:
Collaborate with the teacher of record to assist students with assignments and assessments.
· Monitor Student Progress:
Track student performance, take notes on academic progress, and provide feedback to the teacher and intervention team.
· Support Classroom Management:
Help maintain a positive and supportive learning environment, using proactive strategies to encourage student engagement and focus.
· Prepare Learning Materials:
Organize instructional materials, set up learning centers, and assist in creating tools that support student learning, including library media materials.
· Communicate with the Team:
Participate in team meetings and collaborate with teachers, specialists, and administrators to review student needs and adjust support plans.
· Promote Student Confidence:
Encourage students, celebrate successes, and help build academic self-esteem.
· Ensure Confidentiality:
Maintain confidentiality regarding student information and records in compliance with district and federal guidelines (FERPA).
