POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time Educational Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with classroom teachers to support student learning, assist with classroom management, and contribute to a positive, engaging, and inclusive school culture.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• High school diploma (post-secondary education in education, childcare, or a related field is an asset).
• Experience working with children in a school or childcare setting preferred.
• Experience supporting children in educational or care settings, especially those with diverse learning needs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed.
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow the teacher’s direction.
• Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic school environment.

• Provide one-on-one or small-group support to students as directed by the teacher.
• Assist with the preparation and organization of classroom materials and resources.
• Support students with special educational needs, ensuring inclusion in all classroom activities.
• Work with students with behavioural and learning challenges.
• Help maintain a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment.
• Monitor and support student progress and behavior.
• Supervise students during non-classroom times (e.g., recess, lunch, field trips).
• Collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and other staff members.
