REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
Reporting to the Chair of Heavy-Duty, the Educational Assistant will assist instructors in practical labs across various automotive programs, including international, certificate, diploma, and apprenticeship levels. The role involves supervising students to ensure safety compliance, supporting the preparation and dismantling of shop spaces for practical assignments and assessments, and maintaining lab equipment and tooling. The incumbent will manage inventory, order parts and supplies, restock safety and first aid equipment, and conduct regular safety inspections and minor repairs to ensure an efficient and safe shop environment. Duties include opening or closing the shop based on the assigned shift, participating in departmental and College training and committees, assisting with student orientation and graduation activities, and supporting tours and outreach events such as summer camps.
