    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    This position supports the Division of Career and Adult Education by gathering, analyzing, and reporting information related to career and technical education and the implementation of the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act and the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act – Title II. This position is responsible for leading reviews and provides training and guidance to districts and technical colleges to ensure compliance with federal and state requirements.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Two to Four years of professional experience in CTE or an equivalent role in workforce education.
    • Four to six years of professional experience working in/with federal and/or state laws.
    • Ability to travel 1-2 times a year.
    • Ability to communicate effectively including verbal and written communication.
    • Experience in creating and conducting training courses.
    • Experience with public speaking
    • Ability to provide work samples of writing skills for grammar, editing and communication review upon request.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    Preferences will be given to:

    • Applicants who meet both the professional and educational experience.
    • Applicants with direct experience in CTE program knowledge and data analysis.

    EDUCATIONAL SUBSITITUIONS:

    Responsibilities

    The Florida Department of Education (FDOE) has an open position that is responsible for executing the following functions:

    • Provides leadership on implementation of initiatives related to student attainment of industry certifications in secondary and postsecondary career and technical education programs.
    • Provides leadership and develop policies and procedures for the identification and review of recommendations for industry certifications and any other non-degree credential of value for Perkins implementation and the Credential Review Committee.
    • Manages complex information systems, databases, and processes for Perkins recognized postsecondary credentials for secondary and postsecondary career and technical education programs.
    • Manages analysis and administration of the statewide industry certification data request process. Serves as technical expert on industry certifications for the Credential Review Committee.
    • Conducts research on, analyzes, and reports information relating to non-degree credentials including industry certifications, digital tool certificates, and Perkins recognized postsecondary credentials.
    • Coordinates the internal review process for non-degree credential review. Coordinates review across state agencies including The Florida Department of Commerce and CareerSource Florida.
    • Supports accountability for career and technical education by providing input on data collection, reporting, and use to the Office of Accountability, Research, and Measurement.
    • Manages the development and maintenance of databases for tracking and reporting of industry certifications, digital tool certificates, and Perkins recognized postsecondary credentials.
    • Provides technical assistance on data collection, reporting, funding, and use of accountability data to internal staff, school districts, and Florida College System institutions.
    • Develops technical assistance workshops and training materials for districts and Florida College System institutions to assist districts in implementation and improvement of local industry certification initiatives.
    • Develops and coordinates statewide technical assistance workshops on new and emerging certifications to meet industry demand.
    • Responsible for the development annual summaries of performance on industry certification attainment.
    • Responsible for the maintenance and development of industry certification and Credentials of Value associated Florida Administrative Codes.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
