DEGREE IN AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE (ASL) INTERPRETING, CERTIFIED ASL INTERPRETER CREDENTIALS, AND 1+ YEAR OF EXPERIENCE AS AN ASL INTERPRETER IN EDUCATIONAL SETTINGS. APPLICANTS WHO DO NOT MEET THESE QUALIFICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

This opportunity is for a full-time American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter and Teacher specialized in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education at the elementary level. The position requires certification with Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teaching Licensure in Idaho. The role is a contract assignment covering the full 2025-2026 school year, offering a comprehensive caseload centered on elementary students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality ASL interpretation and instruction for elementary-aged students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans tailored to the needs of students within an elementary caseload
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, families, and support staff to ensure effective communication and inclusive learning environments
  • Utilize best practices in Deaf education to support academic, social, and communication development
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
  • Maintain compliance with Idahos guidelines for Deaf and Hard of Hearing services and educational standards

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teaching Licensure in Idaho
  • Proven experience working with elementary students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Proficient in American Sign Language, both interpreting and teaching skills
