DEGREE IN AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE (ASL) INTERPRETING, CERTIFIED ASL INTERPRETER CREDENTIALS, AND 1+ YEAR OF EXPERIENCE AS AN ASL INTERPRETER IN EDUCATIONAL SETTINGS. APPLICANTS WHO DO NOT MEET THESE QUALIFICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

An opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support a K-12 educational setting in West Columbia, SC. This contract role spans the academic school year and offers a chance to deliver vital communication access for students who rely on sign language.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate effective communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their teachers, peers, and school staff.
  • Interpret classroom instruction, extracurricular activities, and school events accurately and impartially.
  • Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure accessibility and inclusion.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards and ethical guidelines for interpreters.
  • Participate in meetings and trainings as required to support student success.

Desired Qualifications:
