JOB AIM:

To deliver high-quality, evidence-based diagnostic assessments for children, young people, and adults with learning, developmental, or emotional needs.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

The required qualifications, necessary knowledge and practical experience to perform the job.

  • BPS or HCPC membership
  • Register of Qualifications in Test Use (RQTU)

EXPERIENCE

  • Significant experience in the administration and interpretation of a wide range of psychometric and educational assessment tools used in the UK (e.g., TOD, WISC-V, WIAT-III, CTOPP-2, WRAT-5, DASH2).
  • Collaborative working across an organisation.
  • Excellent analytical and report-writing skills with the ability to present complex findings in an accessible format.
  • Good knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office software, database systems, marketing platforms.

Responsibilities

Responsible to the Chief Executive Officer for the below tasks and duties:

  • To conduct comprehensive psychological assessments e.g. autism/dyslexia/ADHD/DCD/dyspraxia/dyscalculia, using formal psychometric tools, clinical interviews and observation.
  • To calculate and interpret test scores accurately.
  • To formulate diagnostic conclusions in line with recognised UK frameworks, guidance, and criteria (e.g., BPS Dyslexia Guidelines, DSM-5/ICD-11, Equality Act 2010).
  • To write comprehensive and accurate reports using the diagnostic assessment report formats within specified timescales, diagnoses where appropriate, and tailored recommendations for support and intervention.
  • Liaise with clients, parents/carers, and other professionals to explain results and ensure recommendations are practical and understood.
  • To ensure reports follow the latest SASC report format.
  • Advise on reasonable adjustments for educational institutions, workplaces, and examination boards, including Access Arrangements under JCQ guidelines.
  • Adhere to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Safeguarding legislation.
  • Maintain good levels of client satisfaction and provide positive client experience.
  • Be responsible for ensuring CPD requirements are met, including keeping up to date with and adhering to current guidance on assessing and reporting standards.
  • Help promote and maintain a positive company image.
  • To champion a working environment of continuous improvement.
  • To support the continued development and implementation of the company’s strategic plan, missions, goals and values.
  • Support SLT where possible.
  • Carry out any other undertaking in-line with the span of the post as requested by line manager and/or Directors.
