Description

This position focuses on excellence in academic teaching, application of industry experience, and learner engagement and support and educational administration.
The Lecturer should be able to deliver both the theoretical and practical aspects of industrial automation and cover content on digital electronics, programming, automated production system design, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs), while aligning the course content with emerging trends in IoT and Industry 4.0.

As a teacher Engineering - Higher Education, your key responsibilities include:

  • Plan education practices and delivery sessions that reflect the most effective way to engage learners
  • Ensure that teaching materials and resources meet all regulatory standards, training packages and related requirements
  • Establish and maintain a positive learning environment, including encouraging students to take responsibility for their own learning
  • Adapt learning and assessment materials to cater for different students, learning environments, facilities, and resources
  • Undertake a range of administrative, coordination, and learning services activities directly related to the areas taught
  • Assist in relation to the establishment, maintenance, and review of teaching programs
  • Maintain a respectful, and safe environment free from discrimination, bullying and harassment

Responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE ROLE:

  • Tertiary qualifications at AQF level 8 or above, (preferably in the field of Mechatronics, Industrial Automation or related field) or higher
  • Practical, hands-on experience in programming, SCADA, robotics, PLC systems, and industrial electronics as demonstrated through a range of work and related experience
  • Registration with relevant professional bodies as required for the discipline area
  • Minimum of 5 years of industry experience in industrial automation, manufacturing systems, or a related domain
  • Scholarly Activity – participating in the scholarship of learning and teaching, and the discipline.
