Description Opportunity for Part Time 10:00am-3:00pm Performs a wide variety of electro-neurodiagnostic studies including EEG, evoked potentials and specialized studies in the lab, and at the bedside of critically ill patients. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Measures and accurately applies electrodes in a timely manner, according to the International 10 - 20 System. Ensures that electrode impedances meet standards. Develops a comprehensive patient history by gathering information from patient, medical record and family members including seizure type, date of last seizure and other neurological symptoms. Provides patient and family education by explaining the procedure and purpose of the study and the report reading and turn around process. Performs EEG record according to standards (routine, sleep, at bedside and electrocerebral silence recordings). Implements alternate methods or adjusts controls to obtain optimal recording, including montage, electrode adjustment and activation procedure use. Uses appropriate calibrations and makes proper adjustments. Recognizes artifact; documents, eliminates and/or monitors it. Performs all 3 modalities of evoked potential with high quality results and performs advanced EEG/evoked potential recording. Keeps equipment clean and in proper working order. Troubleshoots equipment problems, repairs or reports them promptly. Archives record as needed. Education and Experience High School graduate Completion of training consistent with guidelines of the American Society of Electro-neuro-diagnostic Technologists Must be eligible for registry by the ABRET; ABRET or CRET board certification preferred. Current CPR certification or eligible 1+ to 3 years experience required. Excellent communication skills.
