About Our Opportunity:
Family Services Employee Assistance Program (FSEAP) provides clinical counselling services to employees of client organizations who may be experiencing problems in their personal, family, or work lives. In addition, the program provides a variety of organizational services to its corporate clients, including workplace consulting and training, and critical incident stress management responses. As a social enterprise of Family Services of Greater Vancouver (FSGV), FSEAP is a fee-generating business, with all of its profits going to support the larger work of FSGV and the Greater Vancouver community.
Working within the mission, vision, values and person-centred philosophy of the Agency, the Counsellor provides short term, solutions focused counselling in an EAP model for children, youth and families, individuals and couples, serving clients of all ages, family configurations and income groups, addressing a wide spectrum of concerns including separation and divorce, relationship difficulties, parenting concerns, family conflict, loss and grief, ageing, depression, anxiety. It actively supports the Agency’s awareness and goals around diversity and inclusion.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counselling or Clinical Psychology or equivalent
  • Minimum of three years related work experience providing counselling for individuals, couples, families and/or children or 2,500 counselling hours
  • Current registration with a regulatory body: RSW, CCC or RCC

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • Superior clinical skills, including significant understanding of mental health and substance abuse issues and short-term, solution-focused treatment approaches
  • Exceptional case management skills, including knowledge of community resources and ability to assist clients to effectively access, utilize, and benefit from those resources
  • Demonstrated ability to create and manage professional clinical records with exacting detail
  • Second language would be an asset, but is not required

  • Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check
