To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add an Environment Health & Safety Manager located in Oostrum.
Reporting to Regional EHS Director and Site GM, the Environment Health & Safety Manager role involves oversee and support the EHS team in implementing comprehensive programs to ensure compliance with company standards and governmental regulations across office and four logistics sites. This role drives the effective management of environmental, health, and safety initiatives to foster a safe and sustainable workplace.

What a typical day looks like:

• Lead and support the local EHS team in managing all EHS-related aspects for warehouses and offices.
• Develop and manage EHS budgets, schedules, and performance metrics.
• Conduct meetings focused on environmental, safety, and machine safety compliance.
• Design and deliver EHS training and awareness programs.
• Support the implementation of corporate EHS training initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with the Dutch Working Conditions Act and company EHS policies.
• Monitor and enforce the highest safety standards across all operations.
• Oversee the Dangerous Goods (DG) Specialist, ensuring compliance with PGS 37-2 regulations.
• Provide guidance to employees and management on EHS policies and serve as an advisor to business units.
• Participate in project meetings to integrate EHS considerations into process and installation changes.
• Represent the company during customer audits and meetings with government agencies.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for the Dutch Labor Inspectorate and other regulatory bodies.
• Develop and implement an annual strategic plan for health, safety, environment, and sustainability to drive continuous improvement.
• Recommend and update policies impacting EHS
• Collaborate frequently with business unit directors, operations managers, supervisors, customers, and peer group managers.
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting in corporate EHS databases.
• Manage budgets and schedules for moderately complex EHS activities, including costs for contract labor, equipment, and materials.
• Train staff on policy and procedure updates.
• Implement HR strategies to recruit and retain a qualified, motivated EHS workforce.
• Conduct Risk Inventory & Evaluation (RI&E) processes and oversee follow-up actions to mitigate risks.
• Coordinate crisis response plans and manage communications during incidents to protect personnel and resources.
• Maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including government authorities and NGOs, to promote safety and compliance.
• Lead and mentor HSE specialists, fostering a collaborative and proactive safety culture across the Flex campus

The experience we’re looking to add to our team

• Bachelor’s degree (HBO or equivalent) in Safety, Environmental Science, Technology, Engineering, or Management (HKV or i.o).
• Minimum 5 years experiences in a similar EHS role within logistics or manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with ISO 45001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 13485, RI&E processes, and relevant EU/Dutch regulations.
• Driver license is required
• Demonstrated expertise in crisis and stakeholder management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English.
• Strong skills in project management and budget oversight.
• Experience in international matrix organizations is a plus.
