We have recently developed some new roles within our Special Educational Needs Casework Team. You will be joining Oxfordshire County Council during a time of rapid improvement in our services and provision for Children and Young People with SEND. Our vision is focused on improving outcomes and supporting Children and Young People to achieve their aspirations.
We are looking for Assessment Officers to manage the entire Education, Health and Care Needs assessment process across all ages 0-25. You will work under the direction of an experienced Senior Officer to ensure the Local Authority meets its statutory deadlines in relation to this process.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Senior SEN Officer, you will be responsible for all aspects of the Education, Health and Care Assessment process from initial request to the issuing of a final Education, Health and Care Plan. You will act as the first point of contact for children/young people and their families and will be required work closely with them throughout the assessment process. You will also ensure Children and Young People and their families are at the heart of everything we do.
We have a number of offices across Oxfordshire (Abingdon, Oxford or Banbury) and we also have an agile working policy. There may be a requirement for you to attend regular office-based sessions and face-to-face meetings with families and settings.
