Stoke-on-Trent Council is seeking two dedicated and proactive Elective Home Education Liaison Officers to support families who elect to home educate their children.
This critical role ensures that children receiving education at home are provided with a suitable and efficient education.

The successful applicants will have experience of working with children and young people in education settings, working with families and professionals with good knowledge and understanding of the legislative framework around EHE and Children Missing from Education.
You will be responsible for gathering and assessing information from parents about the suitability of the education they are providing, offering practical advice in relation to teaching and learning strategies to ensure the EHE is suitable.
You will work collaboratively, within the Access &Support Servicer for Vulnerable Learners, liaising closely with schools and other partners to provide well-rounded support for children and families.
You will have excellent communication skills, a collaborative mindset and the ability tobuild effective and positive relationships.
You will have excellent record keeping skills, prepare high quality reports, make recommendations and referrals including in relation to safeguarding.
