POSITION SUMMARY:

  • Acts as technical liaison between EHR vendor and Centennial.
  • Performs EHR system modification and programing duties including but not limited to form design, creation and maintenance. Plays a key role in the creation, development, integration, and maintenance of EHR system and related software components.
  • Develops, modifies and maintains programmatic integration through APIs between EHR system and other solution components e.g. reporting software.
  • Effectively identifies and communicates programmatic enhancement needs with EHR Program Manager.
  • Informs and complies with programmatic enhancement request workflows, guidelines, and procedures. Provides EHR Technical Support

EDUCATION:

  • Associate’s degree or higher– preferred
  • Years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 2 to 4 years of experience developing within Electronic Health Records, Healthcare, SQL, Python, JavaScript, and agile development process.

ABILITIES, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of EHR applications including form and module development in both Clinical and Practice Management applications
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionality to resolve complex issues
  • Capable of working independently with forms, databases, training material and documentation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to accurately maintain and document procedure, such as user guides, change logs and incident reports
  • General knowledge of accounting, MIS, or Human Resources theories and practices
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents
  • Understanding and experience with HIPAA and other healthcare regulatory compliance requirements
  • Strong interpersonal skills required
  • Must be well organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to travel within the service area or to other locations as needed.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous skill development including applicable technology to competently serve individuals from diverse cultures and backgrounds
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: $25.67 - $32.11 per hour
    Expected hours: 40 per week

Responsibilities
  • Understands and continuously monitors clinical workflows for areas for improvement:
  • Understands Centennial’s unique processes and documentation needs to design EHR forms that capture relevant patient information efficiently.
  • Collaborates with product manager and data team to identify recurring reporting requirements to meet business and clinical needs.
  • Modifies processes and templates in EHR system and related applications to capture required data elements.
  • Effectively communicates the process changes, enhancements and modifications both verbally and through written documentation to management and staff so that issues and solutions are understood and utilized in decision making and every day operation
  • Form design and development: Work with EHR vendor (such as NextGen or NetSmart) to productize Centennial’s specific needs to avoid customization. Using the EHR system’s built-in form builder tools, create new forms, modify existing templates, and add custom fields like dropdowns, checkboxes, text boxes, and data validation rules.
  • Data mapping and integration: Ensure that data collected on forms seamlessly integrates with other parts of the EHR system, allowing for accurate reporting and analysis.
  • User interface design: Prioritize user-friendliness by creating intuitive layouts and clear labeling on the forms to minimize errors and streamline data entry.
  • Security and compliance: Adheres to HIPAA regulations by implementing appropriate data security measures within the customized forms. Participates in planning, conducting, and documenting security standards with the electronic health record including system access and working with the agency’s compliance officer to ensure privacy and security standards are maintained.
  • Coordinates, develops, tests, implements, and maintains EHR upgrades to optimize functionality, operational efficiency, and use. Documents and tracks EHR system upgrades and changes in accordance with change management procedures (Change Management).
  • Provides primary technical support for EHR issues to staff. Troubleshoots issues and coordinates with IT Desktop Support as needed. Documents all issues.
  • Assists in managing the patients’ health information and medical records to meet legal, ethical and medical requirements.
  • Assists in implementation of programmatic software integration through APIs, including analysis, design, specification, implementation, go-live, and support.
  • Participates in user groups meetings and training courses in order to learn more about the products and to stay up to date on EHR best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Works with other teams to assist with form creation and assist with projects as they evolve to ensure that the EHR can/will meet the goals of those projects.
  • Writes and maintains clear and concise procedural documentation for current and new processes in modern agile document management system.
  • Participates in agile development including stand ups and sprints.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.
