We have an exciting opportunity to join the Information Technology Clinical Systems (ITCS) reporting team working on innovative analytics and reporting solutions from our new Epic EPR. The role is shared across Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust (GSTT) and King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (KCH) and is ideal for a person who has an understanding of NHS data and wants to become an expert in Epic’s analyst tools to deliver the benefits of data-enabled healthcare.
The successful candidate will work as part of a team of analysts supported by an application manager. Key responsibilities include:
Analyse, design and implement solutions for problems or issues with Cogito reports and dashboards
Please note that candidates who do not hold a current Epic certification will be required to undertake and pass an online Epic Sphinx assessment once shortlisted as an interview pre-requisite
King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK’s largest and busiest teaching Trusts with a turnover of c£1.8 billion, 1.5 million patient contacts a year and more than 15,000 staff based across South East London. The Trust provides a full range of local and specialist services across its five sites. The trust-wide strategy of Strong Roots, Global Reach is our Vision to be BOLD, Brilliant people, Outstanding care, Leaders in Research, Innovation and Education, Diversity, Equality and Inclusion at the heart of everything we do. By being person-centred, digitally-enabled, and focused on sustainability, we aim to take Team King’s to another level.
We are at a pivotal point in our history and we require individuals who are ready to join a highly professional team and make a real, lasting difference to our patients and our people.
King’s is committed to delivering Sustainable Healthcare for All via our Green Plan. In line with national Greener NHS ambitions, we have set net zero carbon targets of 2040 for our NHS Carbon Footprint and 2045 for our NHS Carbon Footprint Plus. Everyone’s contribution is required in order to meet the goals set out in our Green Plan and we encourage all staff to work responsibly, minimising their contributions to the Trust’s carbon emissions, waste and pollution wherever possible.
The Senior Reporting Analyst role is joint across KCH and GSTT. The two Trusts share a Chief Digital Information Officer (CDIO) and a vision for digital services that are lean and agile, that maximise the benefits of a shared service operating model, and deliver the digital ambition for both Trusts. This ambition is supported by a forward-looking and strategic approach, and significant investment in a new Electronic Health Record (EHR) which will catalyse a programme of work across both Trusts to transform the way technology and data is used across our services.
The successful applicant will develop NHS operational and clinical reporting from Epic Cogito front-end tools, Reporting Workbench, Radar, and SlicerDicer, as well as by querying our Caboodle data warehouse using SQL. To achieve this they’ll work closely with the ITCS teams which support Epic applications; informatics departments in partner organisations; data warehouse teams; and end-users across every staff group to provide advice and guidance, develop reports and analytics solutions in Epic and to support using the Cogito tools. Furthermore, they will engage in a team-based development process designed around agile methodologies and collaborate in a formal system of change management to enable safe transition of information products and systems from design to operation.
Understanding of NHS operations and Trust data needs are essential to this role.
Obtaining and maintaining Epic accreditation in the Cogito module is essential. If you do not have a Cogito accreditation, you will be expected to obtain one within the first few months in this role.
Please note this role requires hybrid working and will necessitate travel between Guy’s and St. Thomas’, King’s College Hospital and Royal Brompton and Harefield sites
