Rockwell are currently recruiting an experienced, pro-active Environmental Health & Safety Advisor to join an exciting mechanical engineering project in the Dublin region, on a permanent & full-time basis.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS EXPERIENCE:

  • Relevant 3rd level qualification,
  • Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g IOSH, IIRSM etc)
  • The successful EHS candidate should have at least 3 years of experience in a similar role, having worked on pharmaceutical projects previously.
  • Possess a reasonable level of knowledge of Irish Health & Safety and Environmental legislation and regulations.
  • Ability to teach/instruct various safety courses would be advantageous. (e.g Manual handling, Work @ Height)
  • Have knowledge of Electrical, Mechanical and Construction industries.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain the EHS system to ensure full implementation across all projects and all sites.
  • To provide operational supervision of the EHS activities on site.
  • Develop and implement procedures, guidelines, processes and documentation to support the Company in addressing and enforcing the required EHS standards.
  • Prepare and inspect both Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS) along with other site EHS and PSCS documentation.
  • Assist with the planning of and supervising of lifting operations.
  • Conduct regular site audits of processes, equipment, documentation and general EHS compliance and to follow through on raising and closing action items.
  • Lead incident investigations and utilisation of root cause analysis techniques.
  • Ensure continued compliance with all regulatory standards, including ISO14000 & ISO45001.
  • Manage & maintain employee training records in conjunction with relevant colleagues.
  • Create & develop content for the EHS intranet to include best practice policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and submit reports to the project team and to the Company Head Office.
  • Promote a behavioural-based safety approach across the project.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Review and monitor contractor and vendor EHS performance to ensure alignment with company standards and legal obligations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by benchmarking against industry best practices and integrating feedback into the EHS management system.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, HR, and quality teams to integrate EHS principles and practices into core business processes.
  • Support environmental sustainability initiatives, including waste reduction, energy efficiency, and environmental conservation practices on site.
