The Environment Health & Safety (EHS) team at Apple is growing, and we are looking for an upbeat, dedicated, and flexible professional to join a team committed to protecting the environment, health, and safety of our employees, customers, and the global communities where we operate, while supporting our partners in their mission to develop amazing products. We are seeking an experienced, collaborative, and self-motivated EHS professional to join our team to develop, implement, and continuously improve EHS Chemical Management processes and systems. This person must be passionate about solving problems, organized, and have the ability to communicate across technical disciplines and organizations. DESCRIPTION As an EHS Chemical Management Specialist, you will be an ambassador of Apple’s EHS culture, responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving global and some local chemical management programs, processes, and systems. You will work closely with cross-functional partners, stakeholders, EHS Leadership, and subject matter experts to develop and implement the chemical management strategy in areas such as Dangerous Goods shipping, Safety Data Sheet (SDS) management, inventory management, EHS chemical reviews, risk assessments, and regulatory reporting and compliance. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Industrial Hygiene, Chemical Engineering, or a related field /in an EHS-related discipline. 7+ years of chemical management-related experience such as chemical hazard identification, risk assessment and mitigation, chemical management software applications, subject matter expertise in chemical regulations and reporting requirements with a global focus, chemical inventory management, and chemical transportation. Experienced in developing, implementing, and maintaining chemical safety and management programs and procedures. Expertise in dangerous goods shipping regulations (e.g., 49 CFR, IATA, IMDG, ADR) and experienced in working with various stakeholders to develop and maintain compliance. Experience building and communicating strategies, partnering with various levels of stakeholders to find solutions and drive adoption, advise fellow EHS professionals regarding chemical risk management topics, and perform EHS chemical compliance audits. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Master’s Degree in a science or related EHS field preferred. Recognized professional credentials (e.g., Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or Board Certified Safety Professional (CSP)). Experience in one or more related chemical risk management areas such as Industrial Hygiene, hazardous waste management, chemical emergency response, and air emissions. Experience in US EPA Tier II reporting or California’s Hazardous Materials Business Plan (HMPBP) requirements, particularly the hazardous material inventory statement (HMIS) portion. Ability to interpret and apply complex Dangerous Goods shipping regulations related to batteries and developing compliant solutions for various battery types and configurations. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks concurrently with a strong sense of ownership and independently complete tasks with minimal follow-up. Experience with regulatory agencies, regulatory inspections, and chemical emergency response. Experience in working with EHS software platforms Enablon and/or Cority.
