Description

  • Serve as the site expert in chemical hazard identification, exposure assessment, PPE assignment, and occupational noise exposure (Hearing Conservation, 29 CFR 1910.95).
  • Lead and manage IH exposure monitoring programs, including data analysis, reporting, and evaluation of control measures.
  • Maintain IH monitoring equipment and ensure availability to support compliance with OSHA and internal exposure limits.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain IH policies, procedures, and training; deliver training and act as the primary technical contact for IH and noise-related matters.
  • Evaluate new and modified manufacturing processes for health hazards, PPE needs, and engineering control requirements.
  • Support injury prevention initiatives such as ergonomics and lifting practices, and recommend improvements to containment, ventilation, and facility design.
  • Own the HPAPI handling program, leading risk assessments, defining controls, and training ESH and Engineering staff.
  • Represent site needs in corporate HPAPI policy development and ensure alignment with operational and safety standards.
  • Oversee Occupational Health compliance, including medical surveillance, wellness programs, and treatment protocols in partnership with Occupational Health providers.
  • Provide technical ESH support for manufacturing operations and capital projects to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Develop compliance tools, perform internal audits, and lead or support regulatory inspections and business continuity planning.
  • Monitor and assess compliance with site authorization limits; support updates aligned with site growth.
  • Track ESH performance, prepare reports and metrics, and contribute to investigations, event management, and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in corporate and regional ESH collaborations, staying current on regulatory changes and industry best practices.
  • Support implementation and ongoing improvement of Responsible Care and ISO 14001 management systems, including annual reviews and budget planning.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of ESH experience in high-hazard pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with OSHA/OHSAS standards and environmental regulatory compliance.
