Become a part of the “strength within.” Hexcel is currently seeking an EHS Engineer for our Salt Lake City, UT, USA, Matrix location. The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations: Work consists of a variety of situations requiring the ability to recognize, compare and evaluate different options and independently select the best approach Able to ensure that relevant procedures are regularly reviewed and remain current Support line management implementation of corporate policies Responsible for supporting line management to maintain regulatory compliance such as machine guarding, LOTO, fall protection, confined space, electrical safety, hazard communication. Interacts with local regulatory authorities, supported by Plant Management and/or EHS leadership Capable of training/coaching operations personnel on specific items (i.e., new and changed procedures, permits etc.) Supports the management system certification by maintaining and improving the relevant local procedures and practices Able to support emergency response, incident reporting and root cause analysis to understand and address barriers to zero-incident culture Perform inspections (e.g., work permits, audits, and proactively support appropriate resolutions) and performs analysis of results to trend data and identify opportunities for improvement Supports case management and workers compensation claims Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in an EHS-related field of study preferred (i.e., safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene, environmental engineering, etc.) 2+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing or chemicals industries preferred Professional Certification preferred (e.g. CIH, CSP, CRSP, PE, P. Eng., ROH) Basic knowledge of EHS and appropriate legislation as it applies to their location Accountability, Drive for Results Able to effectively collaborate and build teamwork Good verbal and written communication Self-motivated and able to develop self Eligible candidates must be a: U.S. citizen, U.S. national, person lawfully admitted for permanent residence, temporary resident under sections 210(a) or 245(A) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, person admitted in refugee status, or person granted asylum.
