The Role – What You’ll Do! Drive the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS policies and procedures. Execute day-to-day EHS activities to ensure compliance and safe operations across the facility. Plan, design, and deliver engaging EHS training programs that build knowledge, reinforce behaviors, and strengthen the safety culture. Lead initiatives that boost employee engagement and directly improve EHS performance and participation. Partner closely with department managers and employees to identify hazards, implement safety improvements, and reduce the site’s environmental footprint. Track, analyze, and present key EHS metrics and reports to monitor progress and guide action plans. Collect, organize, and maintain EHS compliance records, data, and documentation to support audits and inspections. Manage all waste-handling activities (hazardous, solid, bio-hazardous, etc.) to ensure safe and compliant disposal practices. Apply and maintain strong EHS management controls for all site activities impacting compliance. Lead thorough incident investigations, identify root causes, and ensure corrective and preventive actions are completed and verified. Develop, test, and maintain emergency response and spill response plans, ensuring equipment and teams are ready at all times. Take ownership of additional EHS-related projects and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications That Move Us! A bachelor’s degree is required; a Science-related degree is preferred. A minimum of five (5) years of related experience is preferred An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions may be considered. Strong work ethic - must be a self-starter and willing to do what it takes to complete the task Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills Ability to multi-task and execute tasks with a high attention to detail Commitment to providing exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers Strong written and verbal communication skills Microsoft Office (especially Excel) proficiency Teamwork We have an awesome team at Burke and the right individual for this role will fit well within our culture of teamwork, straightforward and open communication.
