Job Summary The EHS Manager will lead and manage all environmental, health, and safety initiatives for our construction projects in Thailand, ensuring full compliance with local regulations and international standards. This role is responsible for developing and implementing EHS policies and programs, conducting site audits, managing high-risk activities, and fostering a strong safety culture across all project sites in the region. Key Responsibilities Regulatory Compliance & Permitting Ensure full compliance with Thai EHS laws, regulations, and permitting requirements for construction projects. Monitor regulatory changes and update company policies, procedures, and management systems accordingly. Serve as the primary EHS liaison with local authorities, clients, and other stakeholders. EHS Program Development & Implementation Develop, implement, and maintain the regional EHS management system, including construction-specific procedures and work instructions. Lead the preparation and execution of the Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP), Site Safety Plan, and Emergency Response Plans. Ensure proper implementation of the “Three Simultaneities” (EHS facilities, measures, and management) for new projects. Risk Assessment, Inspections & Audits Conduct regular site safety inspections, risk assessments, and safety walks, with a focus on high-risk construction activities. Perform EHS audits and reviews of contractors’ safety plans, risk assessments (e.g., JSA, RAMS), and method statements. Identify hazards, issue corrective actions, and verify their timely closure. High-Risk Activity Management Oversee and enforce safe execution of critical work, including work at height, confined space entry, hot work, lifting operations, and electrical safety. Ensure all permits-to-work (PTW) are properly reviewed, approved, and implemented on site. Training, Education & Safety Culture Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees and contractors, including inductions, toolbox talks, and emergency drills. Promote a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement in all project phases. Incident Investigation & Emergency Response Lead investigations into workplace incidents, near misses, and occupational illnesses, ensuring root cause analysis and effective corrective/preventive actions. Coordinate and support emergency response efforts and drills, and liaise with local emergency services as needed. Reporting, Documentation & Performance Monitoring Prepare and submit all required EHS reports to regulators, clients, and corporate management on time. Track and analyze EHS performance indicators (e.g., incident rates, audit findings) and prepare regular management reports. Contractor & Stakeholder Management Develop and implement contractor EHS management procedures, including pre-qualification, performance evaluation, and compliance monitoring. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to integrate EHS requirements into project planning and execution. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 8 years of EHS management experience in construction or industrial projects, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial role. Proven experience managing EHS for large-scale construction projects in Thailand or Southeast Asia. In-depth knowledge of Thai EHS regulations, permitting processes, and industry best practices. Familiarity with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and other relevant EHS management systems. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. Proficiency in English; Thai language proficiency is a strong advantage. Professional EHS certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, CSP) are preferred. DayOne is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
