Description
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be: Supervises periodic inspections of plant machinery, equipment, and working conditions to ensure conformance to appropriate safety and sanitary standards and regulations. Examines plant equipment slated for purchase, and proposed facility modifica­tions and additions for safety requirements. Recommends modifications or ad­justments to correct any deficiencies prior to purchase or use. Determines appropriate safety equipment and safe work practices to be employed on specific jobs based on government and corporate standards and im­plements accordingly through plant management and comply with Health, Safety and Environments related legislations Observes workers and work practices to ensure that protective devices and safe work procedures are used. Coordinates with Supervisors and Managers to ensure compliance. Coordinates activities with industrial hygiene personnel to maintain safe pro­cedures involving toxic fumes, explosive air mixtures, and other hazardous cir­cumstances that may be present and that cannot reasonably be eliminated. Monitors, on a regular basis, the availability and condition of appropriate fire-fighting and safety equipment in the plant. Acts as liaison with companies ser­vicing fire alarm system and fire extinguishers and with local fire department. Initiates and ensures investigations of accidents and unsafe working condi­tions, compiling statistical data and providing remedial actions to achieve ef­fective accident prevention and avoidance of losses. Chairs regular safety meetings and ensures that coordinated safety training and motivational campaigns are conducted in association with company policies. Acts as liaison with government agencies and serves as plant management representative in case of inquiries and inspections to correct deficiencies and to minimize citations and fines for noncompliance. Works with the HR team to administer the worker's compensation insurance program through close coor­dination with the insurance earner to minimize unnecessary lost work time by employees and unjust claims. Maintains close follow-up with employees or family members of those employees who may have been seriously injured while at work. Acts as plant liaison with inspectors of insurance carriers. Determines manage­ment's position on inspectors' recommendations and prepares written response accordingly. Keeps abreast of government and corporate safety and environmental regulations and standards ap­plicable to the plant. Communicates with and/or trains employees to the extent appropriate to achieve understanding and compliance of same. Develops and prepares plant safety and environmental procedures and rules, ensures their communication to those affected, and audits for compliance. Provide assistance to supervisors regarding the evaluation of safety problems and of employee safety recommendations and complaints. Determines accep­table corrective measures accordingly. Experience in ISO 14001:2015 - ISO 45001:2018 - ISO 9001:2015 procedures & instructions and handle the internal and external audits as and when required Who You Are: You readily action new challenges, without unnecessary planning, identify and seize new opportunities, display a can-do attitude in good and bad times, step up to handle tough issues, deal comfortably with the uncertainty of change, effectively handle risk, make decisions and take actions without the total picture, calmness and productivity, even when things are unclear, deal constructively with problems that do not have clear solutions or outcomes For This Role, You Will Need: Post-graduate degree in Industrial Safety or Equivalent having relevant Minimum 12 years ES&H experience in industry and working in factory in a supervisory capacity for period of not less 5 than years Having relevant experience with a degree or diploma in Industrial Safety recognized by the state Government. Ability to communicate and work effectively Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart: Experience in ISO 14001:2015 - ISO 45001:2018 - ISO 9001:2015 procedures & instructions Comprehensive understanding of environmental rules and regulations Comprehensive understanding of safety rules and regulations Demonstrated ability to coordinate a high level of activity under a variety of conditions and meet required reporting deadlines. Microsoft Office Suite proficiency and high level of PC literacy.
