Responsibilities
  • Uphold Vision & Values of Givaudan and the Sense Colour Business Unit (SCBU)
  • Liaise with Cork team members to identify and deliver EHS and CSR Strategy for site.
  • Feedback findings and requirements to the Plant Manager & Engineering Manager on effectiveness and necessary resources.
  • Provide a strategic direction and focal point for Environmental, Health and Safety Management at the Cork site.
  • Promote good health and safety practices throughout the business, lead culture change regarding EHS engagement and participation.
  • Administer electronic auditing and incident reporting system.
  • Develop networking contacts and identify technical and software best practice that can be used throughout the business
  • Develop DDW Global minimum standards for site hazards including: hazardous chemicals; emissions; effluent and waste management, risk assessment; contractor and supplier management; work permits; forklift standards; machinery safety; accident investigation and reporting, analysis and tracking
  • Develop DDW & Givaudan Environmental, Health and Safety standard procedures, work instructions and regulations, following best practice and ensure these are met
  • Develop risk management strategies and make recommendations on the implementation of these strategies
  • Provide independent professional advice and technical information to allow the sites to discharge their statutory, common law, and moral obligations, keeping staff and Managers informed about changes in EHS Legislation and Codes of Practice.
  • Ensure the site follows and complies with EHS management system policy, procedures, work instruction and applicable regulations.
  • Help maintain ISO14001:2015, ISO45001:2018, and SMETA accreditation for the site
  • Identify training needs and develop and deliver (or if necessary, source) Environmental, Health and Safety training for the site
  • Monitor legal compliance of the site
  • Participate in environmental and health and safety audits and communicate with external authorities
  • Arrange and conduct internal EHS audits and provide advice and support to managers where corrective actions.
  • Follow up on remedial actions and ensure effectiveness
  • Compile accident statistics, analyse trends and propose remedial action
  • Follow up on remedial action and ensure it is implemented
  • Be available to help with investigation and ensure that all accidents and near-misses are investigated, and a report of findings, including recommendations to prevent recurrence and implement an approved course of action, are prepared.
  • Prepare reports to the enforcing authority and by the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations.
  • Identify opportunities for environmental, health and safety improvement and implement programmes to deliver these
  • Respond to daily health and safety issues.
