KEY SKILLS AND REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience of working with ISO45001 business or similar management system (example ISO9001, ISO13485)
  • Have demonstrated experience working on deployment of plans created by others across a multi-functional workforce.
  • Good Communication skills and adept at picking the right communication method for the task.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an EHS role, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient systems user in Microsoft office package.

HIGHLY DESIRABLE SKILLS

Responsibilities

OVERALL PURPOSE

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Officer to join our team. The EHS Officer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing all health and safety programs and policies to ensure a safe and healthy work environment. This role involves conducting risk assessments, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and promoting a culture of safety within the organization.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies and procedures in compliance with all relevant UK legislative requirements.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Review and update Risk Assessments in line with changing conditions, new processes and procedures or in relation to an incident or accident.
  • Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
  • Provide training and education to employees on EHS topics, including emergency response, hazardous materials handling, and workplace ergonomics amongst other priority areas.
  • Monitor and report on EHS performance metrics and trends.
  • Collaborate with management to develop and implement safety improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of all EHS activities.
  • Stay current with industry best practices and regulatory changes.
