OVERVIEW

The Safety Coordinator plays a crucial role in promoting and maintaining a strong safety culture within our production environment. This individual will actively engage with employees, identify hazards, implement preventive measures, and ensure compliance with all safety regulations. The role requires a proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving, training, and continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate degree or higher in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, or a related field (preferred but not required).
  • 1-5 years of experience in occupational safety, workplace safety, or a related field (preferred but will consider strong candidates with hands-on safety experience).
  • OSHA 30 certification or ability to obtain it within the first 90 days (preferred).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage employees at all levels.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments to foster a strong safety culture.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • The role requires a mix of office and production floor activities, with up to 80% of time spent on the shop floor.
  • Must be comfortable working in an industrial setting, wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds when needed.
  • Must be based in or able to commute to Cincinnati, Ohio.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with new hire safety orientation and ongoing safety training programs.
  • Actively identify and address safety concerns before they become hazards.
  • Serve as a resource for employees and supervisors to ensure safe work practices.
  • Conduct regular audits of work areas and safety measures, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Investigate all incidents, perform root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead safety inspections, conduct training sessions, and ensure adherence to health and safety standards.
  • Organize and conduct weekly safety meetings, administer drug testing, and oversee safety programs with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accurate safety records, including training documentation, audits, and incident reports.
  • Collaborate with the Safety Manager to develop and implement company-wide safety initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.
