The EHS Specialist & Trainer supports the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of environmental, health, and safety programs across the facility. This role conducts training, performs inspections, analyzes hazards, and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The position works closely with operations, leadership, and employees to promote a safe, compliant, and prevention-focused workplace. Key Responsibilities Program Management & Compliance Support the development and maintenance of EHS programs, procedures, and policies in alignment with OSHA, EPA, local regulatory requirements, and company standards. Conduct routine site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify unsafe conditions or practices. Assist with incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions. Maintain compliance documentation, records, permits, and reporting requirements. Participate in emergency preparedness planning, drills, and response activities. Training & Workforce Development Deliver EHS training across multiple topics, including hazard communication, PPE, lockout/tagout, emergency procedures, ergonomics, equipment safety, and job-specific requirements. Develop engaging training materials, presentations, and hands-on demonstrations tailored to different audiences. Track employee training records and ensure timely completion of required courses. Coach employees and supervisors on safe work practices and regulatory expectations. Safety Support & Field Presence Provide daily floor support to reinforce safety awareness and ensure adherence to EHS rules and procedures. Support job hazard analyses (JHAs), safety observations, and risk-reduction initiatives. Assist with industrial hygiene monitoring, waste handling, chemical management, and environmental compliance activities as assigned. Support contractors with onboarding, permitting, and monitoring for EHS compliance. Qualifications Minimum 2–5+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing, distribution, warehousing, or similar environments. Associate or bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, environmental science, or related field. (equivalent on the job experience may wave the degree). Strong knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations. Experience delivering instructor-led training and developing training content. Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively across teams and influence safe behaviors. Certifications such as OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, HAZWOPER, or similar military experience. Are a plus.
