JOB SUMMARY
The EH&S Specialist provides guidance and ensures compliance with all applicable safety, industrial hygiene, and security-related governmental regulations, corporate standards, and site policy standards enabling the site to minimize risk and meet all regulatory and legal obligations. Provides technical expertise to the department and serves as an expert to the organization. Develops and carries out improvement activities for the Safety, Health & Environment department. Provides technical and environmental management services as well as permitting, environmental reporting, manages regulatory equipment, systems and documentation and leads environmental improvement projects. Lead environmental improvement efforts to assure compliance and success. Assists/leads incident investigations and risk assessments as needed. Communicates about matters regarding incident reporting and investigations.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree in environmental science/engineering, Operations, Industrial Hygiene, Safety, Business Administration, or other related fields.
· Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience.
· CPR/First Aid certification a plus.
· Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite products.
· Excellent organization, planning and multi-tasking skills.
· Strong interpersonal, written/verbal and presentation skills.
· Bilingual English/Spanish helpful
PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS Physical Skills: Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy loads of up to 50 pounds etc.) Good hand-eye coordination. Familiarity with power tools and machinery is a plus. Work effort principally involves sitting to perform work tasks, with periods of stooping, walking, pushing, pulling, kneeling, and standing. The employee is required to lift, push, or pull department equipment and/or supplies.
