JOB SUMMARY:

Assist in the development, implementation, and management of the Environmental, Health and Safety systems to ensure regulatory compliance, minimize environmental impact and to achieve continual improvement terms of an accident-free workplace sustainability efforts.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry or related field preferred
  • Equivalent work experience or professional certifications obtained by applicants may also be considered with a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Comprehensive understanding of environmental laws and regulations
  • At least three (3) years’ experience in Environmental in a manufacturing facility
  • ISO14001 experience is preferred
  • DOT/RCRA certification is preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Able to manage time efficiently on multiple long and short-term projects simultaneously, meeting all related completion dates
  • Communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration and relationship building skills

Responsibilities
  • Advise and assists the sites management, production leaders and employees on EHS related issues.
  • Assist in compliance with federal, state, and local safety and environmental laws, regulations, codes and rules
  • Keep up to date on latest EHS procedures and requirements by attending pertinent seminars and/or membership in related organizations.
  • Revise policies and procedures as necessary
  • Conducts and documents regular environmental audits of the facility to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Assist in the creation, implementation and maintenance of all safety and environmental procedures.
  • Assist in the planning and development of all EHS training
  • Conduct annual and new hire required EHS training
  • Coordinate air sampling and follow-up as necessary.
  • Maintain and renew all environmental permits
  • Maintain SDS file and chemical list.
  • Maintain IMDS database
  • Respond to customer environment requests and surveys
  • Conduct bi-annual ISO14001 management review meetings.
  • Assist in reviewing and maintaining the environmental system per the ISO14001 requirements
  • Review Wegmann Automotive’s products, manufacturing process, and other activities for environmental aspects/impacts.
  • Prepare and maintain all required TDEC/EPA/ISO14001 recordkeeping and reporting.
  • Responsible for coordinating the proper disposal of all waste generated.
  • Maintain and audit hazardous waste storage area.
  • Serve as Alternate Spill Coordinator.
  • Support EHS Manager in EHS activities and programs
  • Participate in safety audits, accident investigations, and corrective actions
  • Assist in Near Miss and Safety Suggestion Program
  • Perform other duties as required or requested.
