Description
The EHS Technician is responsible for assisting with coordinating environmental, health, and safety activities to assure the organization develops and deploys a strong and EHS culture. In this role, you will assist in making EHS a value-add process through sustainability actions and projects. There will be a focus on improving EHS metrics. Additionally, you will assist with creating Zero Incident Safety Culture (ZISC) based on positive recognition and teamwork. In this function you will: Help deploy and improve EHS programs that apply to the plant. Participate and add value to EHS Committee. Manage and track plant EHS hazard identification program. Participate in EHS audits. Provide EHS support for plant projects and daily operations. Support managing programs to ISO 14001 and MESH standards. Must have an Associate degree from an accredited institution OR two (2) years safety related experience OR two (2) years of leadership experience (Team Lead, Utility, etc.). No relocation is being offered for this role. All candidates considered must live within 50 miles of the Raleigh, NC facility. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint Must show a commitment to working safely, basic leadership skills, and history of integrity. Willingness to pursue an OSHA 10 Hour training certificate within first six months of hire. Ability to plan, schedule, receive, store, ship and deliver chemicals and hazardous waste.
