The EIB, the European Union’s bank, is seeking to recruit for its Inspectorate General Directorate (IG) – Investigations Division (IN) – Fraud Investigations-Investigations & Exclusion Unit (INVESTIGATION&EXCL), at its headquarters in Luxembourg: TRAINEE
Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 1st September/October 2025)

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL SKILLS

  • Final year of studies or University degree in Law, Accounting, Investigations or related fields of studies. A specialization in the legal and/or control aspects of the EU will be considered as an advantage;
  • Basic knowledge or experience regarding contract negotiation, finance, legal and institutional aspects of EU Institutional framework;
  • Ability to summarize and present information with attention to detail;
  • Excellent knowledge of standard Microsoft Office tools, in particular Excel and Word;
  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and/or French. Knowledge of other EU language would be an advantage.
Responsibilities

Under the responsibility of the Head of the Investigations and Exclusion Unit, you will contribute to day-to-day performance of investigative work and similar assistance to IG/IN through the following activities:

  • Drafting Final Case Reports related on allegations of prohibited conduct;
  • Preparing draft documents on investigations related activities;
  • Assisting investigation officers in the performance of their tasks where needed;
  • Discussing internally in IG and with other EIB services the various aspects and consequences of the cases;
  • Drafting appropriate notes to file in connection with above activities.
