Description:

Eikon Research is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a long-term career opportunity onsite at their Huntsville, AL location. The Mechanical Engineer role is diverse, and responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

  • Working with other system / RF engineers to design and develop models for new mechanical assemblies, plan cabling (selection, routing, bulkheads), and source parts for different sub-assemblywomen.
  • Procurement of mechanical assemblies, including vendor engagement, drawing preparation, and verification
  • Develop acceptance procedures for vendor hardware assemblies.
  • Assembly of and assessment of prototypes for new hardware assemblies.
  • Maintenance of the system bill of materials and configuration management.
  • Creating and reviewing documentation, including drawings for technical data packages, work instructions, thermal modeling / simulation results, and other data products.
  • Participating in Agile development practices, including daily stand ups, sprint planning, and reviews.

Requirements:

CANDIDATE MUST HAVE 3+ YEARS’ OF EXPERIENCE WITH THE FOLLOWING:

  • Design engineering, ideally within DoD, aerospace, or defense contracting environments.
  • Proficiency with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, NX).
  • Participation in or leading design reviews and participating in technical interchange meetings (TIMs).

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • A background in the design of military systems is preferred.
