We are looking for a Principal Quality Engineer to lead quality within the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) business unit. The successful candidate will support the business unit in setting up, approving and monitoring: engineering practices engineering principles testing standards quality standards You’ll be supported by a friendly and inclusive team who have the autonomy to define and improve processes and care deeply about developing each other's capabilities. Accountabilities: How you will contribute You will be responsible for managing and maintaining all quality & test activities within EIU You will work closely with the Head of Quality Engineering to ensure the Quality Engineering Strategy is followed in EIU You will collaborate with stakeholders to define functional and non-functional test requirements You will collaborate with stakeholders to ensure all testing phases are reliable and effective You will coach teams in best practices & principles You will apply and uphold industry standards for testing tools and techniques and advise on their application You will help to define ways to always improve testing and quality processes that will enable a shift left approach You will help coordinate test execution and test reporting across teams to stakeholders You will line manage existing quality engineers within the business unit Experience, Skills & Professional Attributes The ideal skills for this role include 10 years of experience You have significant programming experience You have significant experience in building automation frameworks for all types of testing You have significant experience in integrating tests into CI/CD You have significant experience in improving unit testing standards You have significant experience in coaching/mentoring colleagues to support development of automation practices You have solid understanding of cloud technologies You have a solid understanding of the test pyramid You are a solid communicator You have an understanding and appreciate the benefits of TDD #LI-Hybrid AI usage for your application We are an innovative organisation that encourages the use of technology.
