Rail 1, LLC is looking for an Electronic Logging Device (ELD) compliance and safety trainer.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience: Minimum two years of experience driving a CMV is preferred with CDL of the same or higher class. Experience in fleet safety management and DOT compliance is also required.
  • Licenses & Certifications: Must hold a CDL of the same or higher class with necessary endorsements for the CMV being trained on. Must also meet state qualification requirements for CMV instructors.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Proficiency in fleet safety telematics platforms and ELD systems. Ability to conduct audits and manage compliance programs. Exceptional driving and training skills. Ability to accurately maintain records and strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities
  • Training: Develop and deliver training on ELD regulations and usage, covering basic to advanced CMV operation, safety procedures, vehicle systems, and non-driving activities like cargo handling and HOS. Monitor student progress, provide feedback, ensure completion of assessments, and conduct road tests.
  • Compliance & Safety Monitoring: Monitor safety events using ELD data, assign training based on investigations, and ensure timely completion. Create and communicate reports based on ELD data. Assist with daily, weekly, and monthly safety audits. Manage the company drug testing program and ensure compliance with state and federal transportation and workplace safety regulations.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of student progress and training development. Update records as required by laws, policies, and regulations. Submit certifications to the Training Provider Registry (TPR) and maintain training-related employee records.
