How you'll contribute An Elder Associate who excels at this role: * Perform basic patient care skills under the direction of a Registered Nurse. * Demonstrate safe practices with caring for patients. * Provides general nursing care such as position the patient, lifting, turning, applying/utilizing special equipment, assisting in the use of bed pan, urinal or commode, ambulating the patient, bed bath, oral and hair care, changing bed linens, cleaning and straightening patient room and other general care necessary. * Takes and records vitals and intake and output measurements accurately. Documents in a timely manner. * Answers Elder call lights, telephone, and paging system and responds as appropriate. What we're looking for Applicants should have a current state of Michigan certification as a Nursing Assistant. (Required within 4 months of Hire) Additional requirements include: Minimum Education * High School Diploma or equivalent required Graduate of a Program in Discipline required Minimum Work Experience Minimum 1-2 years of CNA experience preferred Required Licenses Other License: CNA Certifications: BLS required, ServSafe required within 6 months of hire More about UP Health System – Portage Team PortagePointe is a long-term care facility with 60 beds to offer to the senior community and is known as the premier nursing home serving the entire Upper Peninsula. Responsibilities

The Elder Associate performs basic patient care skills under the direction of a Registered Nurse, including positioning, lifting, assisting with hygiene, and changing linens. They are also responsible for accurately taking and recording vital signs and intake/output measurements, and responding to patient calls.
