Description Mission Statement Blessed Trinity Elder Care Center was established to serve Blessed Trinity parish and the surrounding community with quality, affordable day care services for seniors in a spiritual, nurturing and stimulating environment that preserves dignity, promotes independence and strengthens family relationships by encouraging and supporting individual choice. 1. Catholic Identity a. Maintain a Christ-like attitude in all contacts with staff, volunteers, co-workers, clients and others. b. Participate in regular staff meetings with the Elder Care Center Director. c. Abide by the established policies, rules and regulations of the Diocese of Orlando and Blessed Trinity parish. d. Inform Elder Care Center Director of any changes or concerns with client’s health and/or behavior. e. No foul language allowed, no arguing, no gossiping, complaining or negative attitudes allowed. f. Staff will be on time to perform their job and limit personal cell phone use. No ear buds or cell phones should be used during working hours. If staff are more than five minutes late, they must contact the Director by phone or text. 2. Responsibilities: a. Participate in regular staff meetings including one to one meeting with Elder Care Center Director. b. Be alert and attuned to the individual needs of all clients. c. Assist with activities. If some clients cannot perform activities, the personal care assistant will provide a small activity with clients. Clients should not be left alone with nothing to do unless they want to. d. Assist Activity Director with planning and implementing activities. Bring new ideas to the Activity Director and ask what assistance they need, so all clients are kept entertained. e. Assist with set up, serving and clean-up of breakfast, noon meal and afternoon snack. f. Assist with afternoon cleanup of tables, chairs, floor and rest room as needed. g. Observe and maintain client safety, security and well-being always. h. Assist with organizing activity supply room, outdoor patio supplies and anything else assigned by the Director. i. Assist clients with toileting including changing briefs and cleaning the client (if needed) after an incontinent episode. j. Refrain from speaking loudly to a client and asking if they need assistance with toileting. Always maintain client’s dignity and behave respectfully. k. Take temperatures of both refrigerators daily and document. l. Complete daily food intake form for the assigned time you serve client (example: if staff assist with breakfast, record the daily food intake for each resident) m. Participate in training provided by center nurse and center director. n. Ensure all confidential information is secured in the nurses’ and/or Director’s office.
Responsibilities
The Elder Care Worker will assist clients with activities, ensure their safety and well-being, and help with meal preparation and clean-up. They are also responsible for maintaining a respectful and dignified environment for clients.
