ESSENTIAL SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS:
- A tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering
- Previous experience managing repair and maintenance of underground coal mining equipment
- Previous experience with computer managed maintenance systems for underground mining equipment, preferably Pulse
- Demonstrable knowledge and skill with explosion protection (EEHA) and High Voltage (Safe Work Practices)
- Demonstrated leadership in a multi-functional work team environment
- Demonstrated positive verbal and written communications
- Demonstrated time management skills
Responsibilities:
In this role, you will report to the Manager of Electrical Engineering. You will be responsible for assisting with:
- Ensuring all site electrical equipment delivers the highest level of safety and performance in compliance with all relevant regulations, codes and standards
- Ensuring all electrical project work is performed in a safe and efficient manner across the site
- Formulating and implementing site electrical standards, systems and procedures to achieve company objectives
- Provide technical engineering support and coordination for capital projects, equipment upgrades and major equipment overhaul
- Drive operational improvement through analysis of plant performance and subsequent maintenance and equipment reliability activities
- Ensure equipment, engineering standards and technical solutions add value to the business and meet relevant statutory or regulatory requirements Assist in the budget process for operations and capital works
- Ensuring adequate contingency planning is available to maintain long term business continuity
- Leading the development of site’s long-term maintenance strategy
- Coordination of electrical contracts and contractors and project management
