About the role
Balfour Beatty (Urban Fox) has an exciting opportunity for an Electric Charging GIS analyst to join our growing team in London
As an Electric Charging GIS analyst you will:
You will be analysing where the best locations are to place electric vehicle public chargers within local authorities. Reviewing over 50 datasets to find these best locations and providing quantitative data and maps to be used in tenders, working with our Sales and Bids team show our data and skill sets of an organisation. You will be involved with meeting local authorities and other external stakeholder to show our results and methodologies. You will support the delivery team in pre-construction activities relating
to site selection
What you’ll be doing
You will be responsible for analysing and selecting where the best locations are to place electric vehicle public chargers within local authorities; and assisting with other design elements at the early stage of developing electric car charging sites.

This includes, but is not limited to the duties described below:

  • Site selection analysis
  • Pre-design configuration checks
  • Analysis of charger performance against ensuring that all activities and operations by our partners and sub-contractors are performed in compliance with all relevant regulations and laws governing business operations
  • Perform audit and surveillance duties on sites operated by partners and sub-contractors.
  • Manage external relationships with external suppliers and sub-contractors, ensuring high quality output and value for money is achieved
  • Estimate costs of overheads, materials, labour and equipment for use in Tenders
  • Working closely as required with the Sales and Commercial teams to advise and assist in considering and putting tender bids together

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 3-5 yrs of GIS experience or similar (we have in-house GIS software)
  • Exceptional PC Skills
  • BSc in STEM, Geography or I.T
  • Good knowledge and experience of Spatial Databases
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to managing work in progres
  • Able to manage multiple projects (with competing time and resource challenges) from initial concept through to final delivery
  • Able to work collaboratively across diverse teams with a strong focus on delivering results with quality and creativity
  • Team player with ability to work collaboratively with individuals, clients and sub-contractors across multiple geographical locations
  • Adapts positively to changing business demands
  • A self-starter with good organisation skills and the ability to manage conflicting deadlines
  • Good stakeholder management skills, with experience of setting, measuring and delivering goals
  • Willingness to travel as required to meet with clients and attend industry events


    • A driving licence and willingness to travel.

    DESIRABLE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

    • Experience in site/location selection
    • Experience in GIS Desktop software
    • Experience in EV
    • Experience of communicating with diverse audiences
