It takes the best to build the best – join us!   Job Family: Technical Specialist/Skilled Trade  Job Function: Design and Drafting  Career Level: T2  Pay Grade: 06   Primary Purpose: Prepares drawings for civil engineering projects such as bridges, highways, waterfront facilities, sanitary and drainage systems, traffic systems, tunnels, mass transit systems, airports, commercial and industrial buildings, dams and reservoirs. Prepares drawings or schematics of electronic power distribution systems involving electronic circuitry. Prepares drawings for HVAC (heating, ventilating and air conditioning) systems, piping systems, refrigeration systems and equipment machinery, engines and mechanical apparatus. Prepares drawings for vehicle (e.g., automobiles, planes, motorcycles) design and production. Prepares maps, cross-sections, logs, graphs and charts used in resource exploration operations.   Duties and Responsibilities: * Sets up and maintains Computer-Aided Design stations and other drafting equipment to ensure operational efficiency and readiness. * Collects field data and measurements necessary for the design projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness. * Assists in the creation of preliminary drafts using CAD software under the direction of engineers and drafters. * Identifies and resolves technical issues with drafting equipment and software to minimize downtime. * Manages and organizes technical supplies and materials, ensuring that the drafting team has necessary resources. * Maintains logs of equipment usage and performance, providing reports on any issues or maintenance conducted. Qualifications Required Qualifications: * High school/ diploma/ or equivalent. * Typically requires 1 year of related experience.   Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Design Engineering - The process of devising a system, component, or process to meet desired needs. * Engineering Drawing/Blueprint Interpretation - Engineering drawings are a rich and specific outline that shows all the information and requirements needed to manufacture an item or product. * Technical Drawing - Technical drawing, also known as an engineering drawing, is a detailed, precise diagram or plan that conveys information about how an object functions or is constructed. * Computer-Aided Design (CAD) - The use of computers to aid in the creation, modification, analysis, or optimization of a design. * 2D/3D Modeling - Creating two-dimensional or three-dimensional drawings of objects, with 2D mainly for line drawings and 3D modeling for creating spaces and objects. * Regulatory Compliance - Ensuring an organization's adherence to laws, regulations, guidelines and specifications relevant to its business processes. * Prototyping - Building an early sample, model, or release of a product for the purpose of testing a concept or process. * Quality Management - Quality management ensures that an organization, product or service is consistent.
