Job Description We are looking for an Electric Motor Design Engineer to join an established aerospace engineering team supporting the development of advanced rotating systems and electric motor technologies. You will play a key role in the mechanical design and development of high-performance components, contributing across the full product lifecycle from concept through to production. Location: Luton On Site: Yes Clearance: None Experience Level: Key Responsibilities: Design and develop mechanical components for electric motors and associated rotating systems. Support the design of transmission elements including shafts, gearboxes, and related hardware. Create and maintain detailed 3D models and design data using CATIA V5. Apply GD&T principles to ensure designs meet tight tolerance and performance requirements. Support material selection activities, particularly for aluminium and sheet metal components. Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to support product development and integration activities. Qualifications Required Skills: Experience in rotating component design (e.g. electric motors, transmission systems, gearboxes, shafts). Strong 3D modelling experience using CATIA V5. Good understanding of GD&T and working within tight tolerance environments. Experience selecting and working with materials such as aluminium and sheet metal. Required Qualifications: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience. Desirable Skills: Aerospace background or experience working on high-performance, safety-critical mechanical systems.
